Business Rules

When linking a solution as a new action through the organisational hierarchy, you will be asked to select the ‘Service Profile’ the action should be linked to.

Click Save to commit the linkage or Close to cancel and go back to the Environmental Analysis page.

Though the Title field is the only mandatory one, it is recommended that more information is included to take advantage of the many links available. 

These links enable a number of different reports to include the Strategies, as well as underlying Actions.

Enter description of the strategy.

Priority Criteria

Select one of the predefined ‘PRIORITIES’ from the drop-down list. This must be completed for the ‘Priorities and Agencies’ Strategic Plan report to contain information in the relevant fields.

Responsible Person

Select one of the predefined ‘STAFF’ from the drop-down list. If a new person is required, they must be entered into the Staff section.  The allocation of one strategy to one person will ensure clarity of purpose within the organisation.

Primary & Secondary Agency

Select agencies from the list.

At least one ‘AGENCY’ must be nominated in order for this strategy to appear in the ‘Priorities and Agencies’ Strategic Plan Report. That agency may be the Organisation itself.

Governance & Target Initiatives

These fields allow users to see a ‘matrix’ view of their Strategic Management Plans rather than the traditional ‘organisation’ view.

This completes the setup of the Strategic Community Plan.  As you can see, a number of links have now been set up within the plan – Strategies link to Outcomes, and Outcomes link to Goals.

If you want a “bird’s eye” view of your complete planning structure, you can go to the Navigation Pad from within the Strategic Planning menu. It allows you to follow the linkages from your highest level strategic goals through to your lowest level actions.  

This is a powerful tool to easily see how the actions that you are responsible for fit into your organisation’s goals and the strategic plan.
