Clicking on the Project tab in the Project Hub will load the quick update page for the selected project within the project hub.
The project quick update information will only be displayed if you have the permission to view ‘Project Details’ object.
If you do not have permission, then a ‘No sufficient privileges granted to view details’ message will be shown in the hub.
If you have required permission, selected project details will be displayed.
Fields displayed in the Project tab will be based on the field configurations in the object editor area of the ‘Project Details’ object. The fields that have the Field Visible in Quick Update tick box selected by the administrator via the object editor area will be displayed here.
Tool bar at the top right hand corner will include the following:
History dropdown (1) – A dropdown listing date & time with the name of the person who modified project details previously.
Email icon (2.
Save button (2) – Saves updated information.
History button (3) – Displays the editing history.
Email button (4) – Send an email based on the project update. A popup window will be displayed to send the email to a staff member within the organisation or to a separate email address.
History icon (3) – Displays the editing history.
Spell Check Icon (4) – Perform a Spell Check.
Save icon (5) – Saves updated information.
Project Detail items are as follows:
% Complete –
Completed percentage is displayed as a slider bar and numerically.
The colour of the slider bar represents the colour of the project performance traffic light.
You can adjust the project percent complete using the slider and the %complete % complete figure will change accordingly. Furthermore, you can also enter a percentage value and the slider bar will automatically change to represent that numeric value.
The ‘Status’ dropdown will automatically change as the percentage changes.
If “% Complete” ‘% Complete’ is ‘0’, then “Status” 'Status' is ‘Not Started’.
If “% Complete” ‘% Complete’ is ‘100’, then “Status” ‘Status’ is ‘Completed’.
If the “0 ‘0 <% Complete <100”<100’, then “Status” ‘Status’ is ‘In Progress’.
You will not be able to make changes based on edit permissions.
Target –
Target will be non-editable, and the value will be derived based on the following logic.
If the project progress is ‘Action Based Progress’ and the project is linked to an action, the target will be based on the action target.
If the project progress is ‘Action Based Progress’ and the project is NOT linked to an action, the target will be based on the calculation method defined.
If the project progress is ‘Project Based Progress’, the target will be based on the progress calculation method defined.
Status –
When the ‘Status’ dropdown is editable, ‘% Complete’ (slider bar and the numeric figure) will automatically change based on the ‘Status’ as given below.
If ‘Status’ is ‘Not Started’, then ‘% Complete’ is ‘0’.
If ‘Status’ is ‘Completed’, then ‘% Complete’ is ‘100’.
If the ‘Status’ is ‘Ongoing’, then ‘% Complete’ is blank.
If the ‘Status’ is ‘In Progress’, then ‘%Complete’ will be editable and the value should be “0 ‘0 <value <100”<100’.
If the status is ‘Deferred’‘Deferred’, then ‘% Complete’ will be editable.
Start Date/End Date –
Project Start and End date will be editable/non-editable based on the external setting “Is Project Duration Based On on Gantt”.
If “Is 'Is Project Duration Based on Gantt” Gantt' is turned on: Start and End date will be non-editable. Project start and end dates will automatically adjust based on the earliest start and latest finish of the Gantt.
If “Is ‘Is Project Duration Based on Gantt” Gantt’ is turned off: User will be allowed to edit the project start and end dates.
Baseline Start Date/ Baseline End Date – Displays the project Baseline Start Date.
Append Task Comment button - You can add task comments to the overall project comment by clicking on this button.
Project Comment – The project comment will not be editable when the project is linked to an action which is collaborative.
