Learning Activity Management

This section offers guidance on effectively using the Catalogue, including:
• How to view different Catalogue folders
• How to manage the Catalogue
• How to self-enroll to a Learning Activity through the Catalogue

The Catalogue is a comprehensive collection of all listed Learning Activities available on the platform, organized by category such as General Courses, Bespoke Training, Webinars, Microlearning and Playlists.

Browsing and searching for Learning Activities

The Catalogue displays up to eight (8) Learning Activity tiles, sorted by the most recent modification date. Additionally, the Catalogue shows the activity count for each tab, displayed next to the name of the tab.

The Catalogue page consists of six (06) sub-navigation tabs located at the top of the page, horizontally:

  • All (default page view)

  • Courses

  • Webinars

  • Bespoke Training - This tab will only appear for specific groups if there are learning activities (courses, webinars, face to face training and micro learning) tailored to those groups

  • Micro Learning - This tab features informative videos that provide quick insights into various learning activities, allowing users to explore content without needing to enroll.

  • Playlist - This tab will only appear when there is playlist available for the learner.

The default Catalogue page displays “All“ available Learning Activities, including General Courses, Bespoke Training Courses, Webinars, face-to-face sessions, and playlists.

The sub-navigation tabs enable the user to access all Learning Activities available in the Catalogue, grouped by activity category and organized by group-specific tailored learning.

Catalogue Tools: Filtering, Sorting, and Searching Learning Activities

This section guides users on how to filter, sort, search, and find Learning Activities through the Catalogue.

  • To navigate between Catalogue pages, select the corresponding page number or click on the [<Previous] or [Next>] buttons located at the bottom of the page.

  • The 'filter' function allows for filtering Learning Activities by product, courses or webinar. Courses and Webinar tabs can be filtered by product and learning activity type (courses or webinar)

  • The ‘sort’ function allows for sorting Learning Activities by title, latest or enrolment status.

  • The ‘search’ function allows for searching Learning Activities by user generated keywords.

Enrolling in Courses, Webinars and F2F

This section guides users on how to self-enroll for a Learning Activity within the Catalogue.
All Learning Activities listed within the Catalogue can be accessed by the Learner through self-enrolment.

Follow these steps to self-enroll to a Learning Activity through the Catalogue:

Step 1
To enroll in a Learning Activity, users must click on the [Enroll] button that appears on the bottom right of the relevant activity tile.

 

Step 2
Users will be presented with a notification to confirm the enrolment. Click [Yes] to confirm the enrolment, click [No] to cancel the enrolment or select [X] in the top right corner to close the screen. Users must click on [Yes] to be enrolled in the activity.

 

 

Once enrolled into a Learning Activity, the Learner will see the following information appear on the activity tile within the Catalogue:

 

  • [View] button will replace the [Enroll] button

The user will receive instant access to the Learning Activity which will be immediately updated in the user’s  My Learning and Dashboard  sections.
The user can view an enrolled activity via the My Learning and Dashboard or directly from the Catalogue.

Note: Tailor-made learning activities are available in the 'Bespoke Training' tab. This tab is visible only if a specific learning activity has been allocated to that group by the Platform Administrator.

Enrolling in Playlist

This section guides users on how to self-enroll for a playlist within the Catalogue.

 

 

Step 1
To enroll in a playlist, users must click on the [Enroll] button that appears on the bottom of the relevant playlist tile.

Step 2
Users will be presented with a notification to confirm the enrolment. Click [Yes] to confirm the enrolment, click [No] to cancel the enrolment or select [X] in the top right corner to close the screen. Users must click on [Yes] to be enrolled into the playlist.
Enrolled playlists appeared in learners' MyLearning module.

 

Note: Grouped learning activities are available in the 'Playlist'. This tab is visible only if a playlist has been allocated to the catalogue by the Platform Administrator.

Access to Micro Learning Activities

This section guides users on how to watch a Micro Learning Activity within the Catalogue. The learners do not require to enrol to watch the micro learning activities.

 

 

Step 1
To view the micro learning, users must click on the [View] button that appears on the bottom of the relevant micro learning tile.

Step 2
Users will be viewed the micro learning activity in video player.

Learners can view the description of each micro learning by over the catalogue image of the activity.

 

Accessing Content (Player Navigation)

This section provides guidance on using the Learning Activity Players, including:

  • Understanding the types of Learning Activity Players

  • How to use and navigate the Course Player

  • How to use and navigate the Video player

The Learning Activity player is the interface through which learners view and interact with learning content.

The system offers two types of Learning Activity players:

  • Course Player – User interface for Course category Learning Activities

  • Video Player – User interface for Webinars and F2F Training category Learning Activities

Course Player

This section will enable you with information on how to use the Course Player.

  • A Course activity will load within an in-app pop-up screen.

Course Player Navigation

The Course Player consists of two main navigations:

(1)    Hamburger Menu

(2)    Progress Bar

Hamburger Menu: Located on the top right corner of the Course Player.

  • To navigate the course lesson structure, toggle the menu to view all modules, then click on any module name to jump directly to a specific lesson.

  • To return to the starting slide of the lesson, click the home icon at the top right corner inside the hamburger menu.

  • Learners can track their lesson progress at the module level by toggling the hamburger menu. Completed modules will be marked with a checkmark icon next to the module name.

  • To exit the lesson, click on [EXIT] at the bottom of the hamburger menu. Then, select [Save & Exit] in the pop-up screen to ensure your progress is saved.

Progress Bar: Located on the bottom of the Course Player, the Progress Bar consists of two (02) key elements.

  • The course name

  • The course slider navigation arrows, represented by the following left [<] and right [>] arrow icons

Course Player Forward and Backward Navigation

Users can progress through the course by interacting with each slide. Use the course slider navigation arrows [<] and [>] to progress forward or backwards between slides.
Each slide may contain instructor-led audio lessons, video lessons or clickable interactive learning elements.

Audio and video lessons will begin when the user clicks the play button on the screen.

 

 

The course video player contains the key features listed below:

  • Play/Pause Button- To start or stop the video at any point during the lesson

  • Progress Bar- To view the progress of the watched versus the remaining length of the video.

  • Volume Control- Hover over the volume button to view the vertical volume control bar. Users can increase the sound by dragging the level controller to the top or decrease the sound by dragging the level controller to the bottom. Click the volume icon to mute the sound.

  • Timer- To view the elapsed video time versus the total video time.

  • Closed Captions- Click on the Closed Caption icon to view the text version of the spoken content.

  • Screen Expander: View the video in full screen by clicking the screen expander button in the bottom right corner of the video player. To collapse the screen, click the button again.

Interactive Learning Slides

Slides may contain interactive learning elements which users can click, drag and toggle to view the course content.

Surveys and questions, are integrated within the course slides, allowing users to provide inputs directly on the course. Users must click the [Submit] button on the screen to confirm the input has been captured.

Exiting the Course Player

To close or abandon the current course, users must first save their progress and exit the lesson to ensure their progress is captured.

  • To close the course, click on the Hamburger Menu icon and locate the [Exit] option located at the bottom of the menu. Click on [Exit] to view the exit intent pop-up screen. Click [Save & Exit] on the pop-up screen to ensure user progress is saved on the system.

  • Once complete, the user may close the window by clicking [X].

Webinar Player

This section will enable you with information on how to use the Webinar Player.

  • Webinars and Face-to-Face (F2F) Training activities are instructor-led, video-based learning objects.

  • When a user launches a Webinar or F2F activity, the video player will launch within an in-app pop-up screen.

  • To close or abandon the activity, you can click the [X] at the top right-hand corner of the pop-up screen to successfully close a Webinar or F2F activity.

Webinar Player Features

The video player contains the following key features:

  • Play/Pause Button-To start or stop the video at any point during the lesson.

  • Progress Bar-To view the progress of the watched versus the remaining length of the video.

  • Skip Buttons-To skip 10 seconds forward or backwards on the video.

  • Volume Control- Hover over the volume button to view the horizontal volume control bar. Users can increase the sound by dragging the level controller to the right or decrease the sound by dragging the level controller to the left. Click the volume icon to mute the sound.

  • Timer- To view the elapsed video time versus the total video time.

  • Settings-To adjust the video playback resolution (quality) or view the video at an increased or decreased speed. In addition to that can access to the chapters of the video (if available).

    • To view the chapters, click on the 'Chapters' tab in the settings. This will display all available chapters for the webinar on the right side of the video.

  • Screen Expander- View the video in full screen by clicking the screen expander button located at the right-hand corner of the video player. To collapse the screen, click the button again.

Tracking Progress and Completion of Learning Activities

The My Learning Details page provides an overview of your selected learning activity, enabling you to track its progress and status effortlessly. Here are the key features available on this page:

  1. Progress Tracking and Activity Status
    You can monitor the progress and status of your learning activity directly on the details page, ensuring that you stay on top of your learning journey.

  2. Similar Learning Activities
    At the bottom of the page, up to four (4) similar general learning activities are displayed. These suggestions help you discover additional relevant learning opportunities. Each activity tile provides options to either enroll in the activity or continue your learning journey if already started.

  3. Trainer Information
    Trainer details for the selected learning activity are displayed on the My Learning Details page. To view additional information about the trainer, simply click on the trainer's name.

  4. Share Learning Activity
    The Share button is available on the My Learning Details page, allowing you to copy the link to the activity. This feature makes it easy for you to share the activity with others as needed.

 

 

Status of each playlist can be tracked in my learning details page.
