Assessment | Self Assessment Phase
1. Overview |
The Self Assessment Phase is the third main phase of assessment process. Self Assessment can begin as soon as the Setup Phase is endorsed by the Reporting Officer and must usually be completed by the end of the evaluation period.
Note: The Self Assessment phase is completed by the Assessee. However, the Assessee does not need to complete the Self Assessment in one session. He/She may save any adjustments and return at a later stage to continue or complete the Self Assessment. The administrators have the ability to proceed and complete the self assessment phase during the absence of the Assessee.Â
2. Identifying the correct Assessment |
Assessments that are in the 'Self Assessment' phase are displayed with a Enter Data button under the 'My Assessments' tab of your homepage. This means that they have been endorsed by your reporting officer and are ready for self assessment.
To begin Self Assessment, simply click Enter Data from the appropriate Assessment which will direct you to the ‘Overview’ page of the Self Assessment phase.
3. The Overview Tab |
The steps required to complete the Self Assessment phase are outlined in the 'Tasks' section at the bottom of the screen.
STEP 1: The first step of completing Self Assessment is to enter an ‘Annual Review’ into the corresponding section. The Annual Review is a summary of performance in relation to the Annual Vision Concepts entered in the Setup phase. The Annual Review should make reference to whether or not the performance throughout the review period has resulted in the attainment of the Annual Vision Concepts.
Note:Â An annual review can only be entered in the final review period for the year, not at each quarterly or half-yearly period.
STEP 2: Click Save to update the Assessment.
Now you can proceed to work through the individual Assessment Elements using the tabs at the top.
4. Core Values Element |
The objective of self assessment of core values is to assess and rate individual achievements in developing and displaying organisational core values for the review period.
To assess Core Values, follow the steps below.
STEP 1: Click the Core Values tab to enter the ‘Core Values’ section of Self Assessment.
STEP 2: Select a rating from the ‘Self Rating’ drop-down list (with reference to the rating legend shown on top), to complete the Core Values section.
STEP 3: Add any comments to justify self rating for each organisational Core Value.
STEP 4: Click the save icon to save the data.
STEP 5: Check the ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Core Values is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the organisational Core Values, thus indicating completion of self assessment of core values.
5. Strategies Element |
The objective of self assessment of strategies is to assess and rate individual achievements in developing and displaying organisational strategies for the review period.
Similar to the Core Values section, click on the Strategies tab to enter the Strategies section of Self-Assessment.Â
Follow the above Steps 1 to 4.
Check the ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Strategies is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the organisational Strategies, thus indicating completion of self assessment of strategies.
6. Actions Element |
The objective of self assessment of actions is to assess and review the completion of actions assigned to the assessee to achieve organisational strategy for the review period.Â
Similar to the core values section, click on the Actions tab to enter the Actions section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the Steps 1- 4.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Actions is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Actions, thus indicating completion of self assessment of actions.
7. Tasks Element |
The objective of self assessment of tasks is to assess and review the completion of tasks assigned to the assessee in order to achieve the organisational strategy for the review period.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Tasks tab to enter the Tasks section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Tasks is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Tasks, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Tasks.
8. Duties Element |
The objective of self assessment of Duties is to  assess the duties assigned to the assessee to reflect the key responsibilities within the review period.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Duties tab to enter the Duties section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Duties is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Duties, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Duties.
9. Competencies Element |
The objective of self assessment of Competencies is to  assess the assessee's performance within the review period.Â
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Competencies tab to enter the Competencies section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Competencies is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Competencies, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Competencies.
10. Measures Element |
Measures element includes organisational KPIs and Scorecards. The objective of self assessment of Measures is to  assess the assessee's performance within the review period.Â
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Measures tab to enter the Measures section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Measures is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Measures, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Measures.
11. License and Statutory Requirements Element |
License & Statutory Requirements element lists down the organisational requirements. The objective of the self assessment of License and statutory requirements is to assess whether the organizational requirements are met by the Assessee.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the License and Statutory Requirements tab to enter the License and Statutory Requirements section of Self Assessment.
Check the ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self-assessment of License and Statutory Requirements is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to validate any of the License and Statutory Requirements, thus indicating completion of self assessment of License and Statutory Requirements.
License & Statutory Requirements element lists down the organisational requirements. The objective of the self assessment of License and statutory requirements is to assess whether the organizational requirements are met by the Assessee.

12. Development Goals Element |
The objective of the self assessment of Development Goals is to assess the personal development goals of the assessee for the review period.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Development Goals tab to enter the Development Goals section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Development Goals is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Development Goals, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Development . Goals.
13. Workplace Goals Element |
The objective of Workplace Goals is to assess the achievement of individual goals set for an assessee within the review  period.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Workplace Goals tab to enter the Development Goals section of Self-Assessment.
Follow the steps 1 to 4 , explained in the Core Values section.
Check the  ‘Task List’ at the bottom of the screen to confirm if the self assessment of Workplace Goals is completed. The Task List no longer displays the need to ‘Self-Rate’ any of the Workplace Goals, thus indicating completion of self assessment of Workplace Goals.
14. Job Satisfaction |
The objective of Job satisfaction is to get the comments of the assessee regarding the satisfaction of his/her job role, position, management, salary concerns and any other inputs related to the job.
Similar to the previous sections, click on the Job Satisfaction tab to enter the Job Satisfaction section of Self-Assessment.
A set of pre-defined question would appear once you navigate into the section.Â
State the response against each and every question based on the question type accordingly.
Click on Save; button on the top to saved the entered data.Â
15. Completing Self Assessment Phase |
To complete the Self Assessment  phase follow the steps below.
STEP 1:Â Navigate to the 'Overview' page of the Self Assessment phase by clicking on Overview tab.
STEP 2: Make sure that data is entered to each element section and all the fields are filled out correctly. Any elements section that were missed will be listed in the Tasks list box and until all the listed tasks are carried out, the system does not allow to complete this phase.
STEP 3:Â Once data entering is finished, click Finish to complete the Self Assessment Phase. Data cannot be re-entered after confirmation.
This completes the Self Assessment phase.
