What are the limitations around SSRS ?

Note: These are some known limitations in SSRS and depending on the complexity of the report there could be more.

  • Export outputs of the PDF and Word templates would not be identical as Word format has more limitations.

  • Cannot use conditional based page numbers in the report footer at the time of rendering the report into Word template. It supports only for PDF template.

  • Cannot repeat the table headers when moving to a new page in the Word templates.

  • Cannot repeat the grouping headings when moving to a new page in the Word templates. 

  • Limitations in rendering the reports into Excel format such as handling multiple sheets and merged cell issues.

  • Unable to have Table of Contents with dynamic page numbering.

  • When showing data available in rich text boxes in SSRS reports there are few limitations as not all html mark-up tags are supported in SSRS.
