How can you update the risk sequencing if it is currently wrong?

Steps for a strict (non-editable sequencing) to be made editable for a short while whilst you edit a few risks that you need to fix. Then changing it back to Strict Sequencing.

Step 1: Note down the current sequence and just note down what changes you need to make (so you don’t lose the correct sequence order).

Step 2: Navigate to the Framework > Risk Settings > Sequence screen.

Note: Under Please select, it should be defaulted to ‘Customise sequence for each risk type if you use custom numbering per risk type – this should never change).

Step 3: Change Risk Type Selection to the risk type you need to edit

Step 4: Change the Risk Sequence Type to be Editable Sequential Numbering , from the Strict Sequential Numbering. Then Save. (changing this allow the Risk codes to be editable). Save.

Step 5: Navigate to the Risk Register to the risks you need to edit. Start with the first risk in sequence by clicking into the risk via hyperlink to enter into the details to edit:

Step 6: Then edit the sequence to the correct number and save.

Step 7: Repeat for all risks you need to update. (cross check with your notes on what number it should be in the correct sequence (step 1).

Step 8: Note down the final risk in the sequence (as we will need to edit the starting number in the Sequence configuration page to be that number). i.e 13

Step 9: Navigate back to the Setting > Sequence screen (selecting the Risk Type again)

Step 10: Update the Risk Sequence Type to be back at ‘Strict Sequential Numbering’ (this then puts the numbering back to be non-editable.)

Step 11: Update the Start Number to be the last risk number entered i.e 13. (the next risk created will therefore be the next in line – 14)

Completed.
