This release introduces exciting enhancements designed to improve your user experience within the application, which will be available in your Test environment on 7th December 2024 and in your Live environment on 21st December 2024.

As Camms.Project moves towards continuous improvement, this release will include enhanced user interfaces, user experiences, and performance improvements for the Budget Object and its key functionalities.

The Budget Object is the primary object that belongs to the Financial Module of the Camms.Project application.

2.1 How can I Activate the Budget Object?

You can reach out to the Camms.Support Team to activate the Financial Module. After that, you can simply drag and drop the 'Budget Object' into the respective workflow according to your preference.

  1. Adding data into the object through a financial integration, upload data via the Upload Wizard, or manually add data.

5. What is the Reporting Year Modification?

Currently, within the Budget Object, project budgets are added and managed for the entire project timeframe. The Reporting Year Modification will allow users to manage project budgets on a year-to-year basis.

5.1 How can I add the Reporting year functionality to the Budget Object?

You can reach out to the Camms.Support team or a product consultant to activate the functionality.

5.2 What changes would I see when activating the Reporting Year Modification?

  1. Adding/Editing/Duplicating/Deleting Reporting Years

5.2.1 Adding/Editing Reporting Years

 

  • Adding a Reporting Year

Adding a new reporting year can be done by clicking the 'Add New' button. You are only allowed to add new reporting years based on the project timeframe.

You can simply click on the field you want to edit data in the Reporting Year and save the data.

5.2.2 Duplicating Reporting Years & Budget Types

The Budget Object allows users to duplicate reporting years and budget types within the Budget Object, making it easier to manage budget values.

 

  • How do I Duplicate a Reporting Year?

You can simply click the 'Duplicate' button to duplicate a reporting year. You will only be allowed to duplicate the budget hierarchy within the project timeframe, and it will only duplicate the rows without carrying forward any data.

You can simply click the 'Duplicate' button to duplicate a reporting year. You will only be allowed to duplicate the budget hierarchy within the project timeframe, and it will duplicate the rows without carrying forward any data.

5.2.3 Deleting Reporting Years

You can simply delete a reporting year by clicking the 'Delete' button. Reporting years cannot be deleted if there are purchase orders linked to the reporting year budgets. All links to purchase orders must be removed before deleting a reporting year, as you will be prompted with an error message.

5.3 How can I add Monthly Data to Budget fields?

The field where you need to add monthly data must be configured as a 'Monthly' field in the Object Configuration area. Once the configuration is set, you will be able to add monthly budget data.

As a user, the fields where you can add monthly budget data will be indicated by a 'Pencil' icon, as shown below.

Once you click the 'Pencil' icon, you will be presented with a pop-up where you can add 'Monthly' data.

Note:

  • The Reporting Period can only be configured as Monthly for Numeric fields and Standard fields that have NO calculations.

  • The Reporting Period for Committed YTD and Actual YTD fields on new workflows will be standardized as Monthly Data fields.

  • Users with the appropriate permissions for the Budget Object will be allowed to make changes to financial data. You can contact your administrator to clarify the permissions you hold.

5.4 How can I filter Budget data?

Budget data can be filtered using the filter icon. You can filter budget data for selected 'Reporting Years' and respective 'Budget Types/Lines.' Once the filter is applied, the filter button will change color and indicate that the data is already filtered.

5.5 How can I conduct configurations of the Budget Object?

The Object Configuration area is where your administrator configures the details of the object, which you can view and modify for financial data.

5.6 What are the new changes of the Object configuration area?

The Object Configuration area has improvements to the interface, experience, and performance. The following are the changes:

  1. Tabs are re-ordered as shown below

     

  2. Object properties now include “Object Name,” “Object Type,” and “Object Description”.

     

  3. Enable Conditions and Visible Conditions contain a similar view to the Workflow Phase Enable and Visible Condition tabs.

  4. The Cash Flow tab will continue with the previous configuration view.

  5. The Budget Object Configuration tab is now named the 'Budget' tab and includes the following:

    1. Tab properties (collapsible)

    2. Contains the tab title

    3. Tab visibility will be controlled through a toggle button

    4. Contains the tab description

    5. The field configuration area will include a grid with the following:

      1. Field Type: Indicates whether the field is a standard or custom field (Text field/Numeric field/Date and Time field) - NEW!

      2. Field Name

      3. Display Name (Previously presented as Label Name) - NEW!

      4. Help Text

      5. Sequence - NEW!

      6. Field Options - Dynamic based on the selection of the custom field type - NEW!

      7. Field Code

      8. Formula

      9. Field Enable/visible/field compulsory actions

      10. Reporting Period (when the Reporting Year functionality is activated) - NEW!

    6. Show Deleted fields Toggle - Allows you to view deleted archived fields - NEW!

      1. You can now view deleted fields via the toggle. Once you toggle to view the deleted fields, it will automatically allow you to reactivate the field via the 'Activate' button.

d. Add New Button: This will allow you to add your preferred custom fields (Text fields, Numeric fields, & Date and Time fields) - NEW!

  1. Filtering fields - NEW!

    1. You can now filter by Field Type, Field Name, Display Name, Help Text, and Sequence within the Object Configuration area.

    2. The filter includes a search bar to enter details, a filter button, and clear and close buttons.

    3. Once filtered, the filter icon will be filled and indicate that the data is filtered.

    4. This filtration cannot be saved.

    5. Sequence cannot be filtered as a range.

  1. General improvements such as Paginations/view of items per page is available as well.

You can now easily filter purchase orders and invoices created in the Invoice Object.

6.1 Purchase Order filter

Quick Tip:

  • If you wish to filter results for a specific “Total Cost,” enter the same value in both the “from” and “to” fields.

  • If you wish to filter results for the same “Purchase Order Date,” enter the same value in both the “from” and “to” fields.

6.2 Invoice filter

Quick Tip:

  • To filter results for a specific “Total Amount,” enter the same value in both the “from” and “to” fields.

  • To filter results for a specific “Invoice Date,” enter the same date in both the “from” and “to” fields.

6.3 How do I configure the fields required for the filter?

An administrator can navigate to the Object Configuration area of the “Invoice Object” and enable the “Search Visibility” for any field. Once enabled, the field will be added to the filter options.
