Baseline is an original project plan or reference point used to track the progress of the project. Task planning object enables you to create many baselines for the project at different phases (given that the Task planning object is linked to the particular phase) so that you can compare your current progress against your initial baseline.

This option will be available depending on the configurations completed by your IPM administrator.

Baselines start/end dates (for each phase that the Task planning object is linked to), and the project start/end dates are displayed at the top of the Gantt chart.

  • Baseline dates are linked to the corresponding phase.

  • Baseline dates for a phase will initially load with Project start/end dates until a baseline version is created.

  • If a new baseline version is not created during a particular phase, the system will auto create a new version upon phase sign off. This may differ depending on the configuration done by your IPM administrator.

To create a baseline:

  • STEP 1: Save the current view by clicking the save icon.

  • STEP 2: Click on the baseline icon. A pop-up window will open with a list of baselines created.

  • STEP 3: Click Create a Baseline. Define a ‘Title’ and provide a reason for baseline if required.

  • STEP 4: Click OK to save the baseline.

  • The baseline dates displayed for the preceding phases (phases which have not started) will be displayed as 'N/A'.

  • Baseline and project start/end dates displayed at the top of the screen are non-editable and populated from the Gantt chart.

To view a baseline:

  • STEP 1: Click on the baseline icon and select the baseline that you need to view.

  • STEP 2: Click on View. This would display on a split screen where you can see the current view on top and the baseline view at the bottom. You will not be able to edit any information in the baseline view.
