Camms is pleased to bring you this Special Product Update Release Note for Camms. Project

This release we've got exciting enhancements to improve your user experience within the application, which will be available in your Test environment on 07 December 2024 and will be available in your Live environment on 21 December 2024.

What does this Release Include?

As Camms. Project is moving towards continuous improvements this release will contain enhanced User Interfaces, User Experiences and Performance Improvements for the Budget Object and its key functionalities.

What is the Budget Object?

Budget Object is the Primary Object which belongs to the Financial Module of the Camms. Project application.

How can I Activate the Budget Object?

You can reach out to the Camms. Support Team in order to activate the Financial Module. After which you can simply drag and drop the “Budget Object” to the respective workflow as per your preference.

What Objects are included in the Financial Module?

  1. Budget Object

  2. Invoice Object

  3. Change Register Object

What are the Key functionalities of the Budget Object?

  1. You can bring data into the Object through a financial integration, upload data via the upload wizard or manually add data.

    1. For further information on Integrating financial data to the Object please contact your consultant or our support team.

  2. You can manage a hierarchical view of Budget Lines

  3. You can manage Budgets against Purchase Orders and Invoices

  4. You can filter Budgets - NEW!

  5. You can add/edit or delete Budgets

  6. You can have custom numeric columns within the Object

  7. You can add custom calculations to manage your financial data

  8. You can manage Taxes for Budgets

  9. You can manage change orders for Budgets

What is the Reporting Year Modification? - NEW!

Currently within the Budget Object Project Budgets are added and managed for the entire Project Time frame the Reporting Year Modification will allow users to manage Project Budgets from year to year.

How can I add the Reporting year functionality to the Budget Object?

You can reach out to the Camms. Support team or a Product Consultant for in order to activate the functionality.

What changes would I see when activating the Reporting Year Modification?

  1. Adding/Editing/Duplicating/Deleting Reporting Years

Adding a Reporting Year

Adding a New Reporting Year can be conducted by clicking on the “Add New” button. You are only allowed to add new reporting years based on the Project timeframe.

You can simply click on the field you would prefer to edit data on the Reporting Year and Save the data.

Duplicating Reporting Years

Budget Object allows users to duplicate Reporting Years / Budget Types within the Budget Object. As it would be easy to manage budget values.

How do I Duplicate a Reporting Year?

You can simply click on the “Duplicate Button” and duplicate a Reporting Year. You will only be allowed to Duplicate Budget hierarchy within the Project Time frame, and it would only allow you to duplicate the rows and will not carry forward any data.

How do I Duplicate the Budget Type?

Deleting Reporting Years

You can simply Delete a Reporting year by clicking on the “Delete” button. Reporting Years cannot be deleted if there are Purchase Orders linked to the Reporting Year Budgets. All links to Purchase orders must be removed prior to deleting a Reporting Year as you would be prompted with an error message.

How can I add Monthly Data to Budget fields? - NEW!

The field you require to add monthly data should be configured as a “Monthly” field on the Object Configuration area. Once the configuration is set you would be allowed to add monthly budget data.

As a user the fields which you could add monthly budget data to would be indicated along with a “Pencil” Icon as shown below.

Once you click on the “Pencil” Icon you would be presented with a Pop-up where you could add “Monthly” data.

Notes;

Users with respective permissions for the Budget Object would be allowed to make changes to the Financial Data.

You can contact your Administrator to understand the permissions you hold.

How can I filter Budget data? - NEW!

Budget data can be filtered through the filter Icon. You can filter Budget data for selected “Reporting Years” and respective “Budget Type/lines". Once the filter is applied, the filter button will change colour and would indicate that data is already filtered.

How can I do configurations of Budget Object?

Object configuration area is the area where your “Administrator” configures the details of the Object which you can view and make changes on financial data.

What are the new changes of the Object configuration area?

Object configuration area has improvements to Interface, experience and performance. Following are the changes.

  1. Tabs are re-ordered as shown below

  1. Object properties include “Object Name”, Object Type & Object Description

  1. Enable Conditions and Visible conditions contain a similar view of the Phase Enable, Visible condition tabs.

  2. Cash flow tab would continue with the previous configuration view

  3. Budget Object configuration tab is named as the “Budget” tab and includes the following

    1. Tab properties (is collapsible)

      1. Contains the Tab title

      2. Tab visibility will be allowed through a toggle button

      3. Contains the Tab description

    2. Field configuration area would include a grid with the

      1. Field Type - will indicate the type of field Standard field or Custom field (Text field/Numeric field/Date and Time field) - NEW!

      2. Field Name

      3. Display Name - (Previously was presented as Label name) - NEW!

      4. Help Text

      5. Sequence

      6. Field Options - will be dynamic based on the selection of the custom field type - NEW!

      7. Field Code

      8. Formula

      9. Field Enable/visible/field compulsory actions

      10. Reporting Period (when the Reporting Year functionality is activated) - NEW!

      11. AAA

    3. Show Deleted fields Toggle - will allow you to view deleted archived fields - NEW!

      1. You can now view deleted fields via the toggle

      2. Once you toggle to view the deleted fields it would automatically allow you to re-activate the field via the “Activate” button

d. Add New Button -this will allow you to add the preferred custom fields (Text fields, Numeric fields & Date and Time fields) - NEW!

  1. Filtering fields - NEW!

    1. Now you can filter Field Type/Field Name/Display Name/Help Text and the Sequence within the Object configuration area

    2. The filter includes a search bar to enter the details, Filter button, clear and close buttons

    3. Once filtered the Filter Icon would be filled and indicated as filtered

    4. This filtration cannot be saved

    5. Sequence cannot be filtered as a range

General Notes;

If you require adding Reporting Year functionality to Objects with existing Data, please contact our Support Team.

When Adding/Duplicating/Editing Reporting Years and Budget Lines; please make sure you have added data to the mandatory column prior to saving the data.

Budget filter is a standard filter therefore configuration of fields are not available.
