Set-up Guide for the Project Dashboard Template

 

  1. Open the PBIX file of the dashboard template via Power BI desktop

Please raise a CRM case to request the PBIX file for the project dashboard

  1. Click on Transform data > Transform data

  1. In the Power Query Editor under the Parameters folder, select the preferred host

The host will depend on region that you are situated in as well as the environment (Live or Test)

  1. Replace the Token

Make sure the token aligns with the selected host. If you are connecting to live data, use the live token. If you are connecting to test data, use the test token.

  1. Replace the Azure-Subscription-key

 

Make sure the subscription key aligns with the selected host and the API connector you are using.

If you are using the Incident APIs for live data, use the Incident subscription key linked to live data. If you are using the Incident APIs for test data, use the Incident subscription key linked to test data. Apply the same approach to other modules as well.

  1. Make sure every query refreshes correctly

From here you can edit the dashboard as per your requirement and include additional datapoints via the APIs for datapoints which are not included in the template

Publish the dashboard to Power BI Service and set up automated scheduled refreshes

 

  1. Sign in to Power BI services via your organization O365 credentials

Link -> Sign in | Microsoft Power BI

  1. Access the workspace where you want to host the dashboard

  1. Import the Report to workspace and select the PBIX file shared by Riskonnect

  1. The report and semantic model will be uploaded to the workspace

  1. Access the settings area of the semantic model

  1. Expand the Data source credentials, click on edit credentials, make sure the settings are identical as per below screenshot and click on Sign in

  1. Expand the Refresh section and set up automated refreshes.

Once connected successfully, your organization's information will be populated in the Riskonnect Power BI template dashboard.
