Camms.Risk - August 2024

Quarterly release note FD banner risk.jpg

Camms is pleased to bring you the Quarterly Product Update Notification for the Camms.Risk

This quarter we've got exciting enhancements to improve your user experience within the system, which will be available in your Test environment on 13th July 2024 and will be available in your Live environment on 3rd August 2024.

1. Enhance the complexity of the Risk Rating Calculation

1. Enhance the complexity of the Risk Rating Calculation

This enhancement offers the flexibility to configure multiple criteria for your risk rating to be calculated alongside one complex criterion on the y-axis for the calculation. Instead of being limited to the usual likelihood and consequence criteria, you can now utilize multiple values for your risk rating. The derived risk score, based on these criteria for both the x and y axes, will be visually plotted on the heatmap for analysis alongside the risk rating score.

How do you configure this?

  • This will be enabled via an internal setting, which you will need to contact Camms to activate.

  • Once enabled, you will be able to add a new complex criterion for your risk rating calculation from the risk settings > criteria configuration page.

Note: You will only be able to add one complex criterion for your risk rating calculation. If the complex criterion is already in use in the calculations area, you will not be able to untick it once added.

  • Respective criteria configurations for the newly added complex criterion must be made in the criteria configuration tab.

  • You must then navigate to the ‘Calculations’ tab and enter the calculation formulas and criteria as highlighted below.

    • The criteria marked as a complex criterion will populate as the label for the Y-axis, where the complex calculation can be defined.

    • Sub-criteria X must be selected to be used in the above criteria formula on the Y-axis as this is mandatory.

    • Sub-criteria Y must be selected to be used in the above criteria formula on the Y-axis as this is mandatory.

    • The final formula for the risk rating calculation must be defined.

    • The Impact Scores will be prepopulated in an intermediate matrix where you will have the ability to override these scores as you wish based on the set configuration values.

How does this work?

  • The newly defined risk rating formula, along with the complex risk rating calculation, will now come into play when the risk assessment is evaluated. This will be visually plotted in the X and Y matrix according to the newly defined criteria configurations and the formulas entered into the system.

5. Enhancing the Organisation Toggle Behaviour to Handle via a Permission/Setting within the Risk Dashboard

5. Enhancing the Organisation Toggle Behaviour to Handle via a Permission/Setting within the Risk Dashboard

Currently, when the "organisation" toggle is switched by any user and a change is made, it applies across the whole organisation and is not limited to administrators only. This is now governed by an explicit permission granted by default to risk managers and administrators. Additionally, any user group managing the risk dashboard can grant this new permission, allowing them to adjust and make changes in the dashboard. General users will be restricted from editing the organisation view and will only be able to make changes in the user view.

How do you configure this?

  • A new permission called 'Enable Organisation Wide Widget Settings' will be introduced within the risk product tree under Dashboard.

  • Only users with this permission will be able to make changes within the 'Organisation' view of the dashboard.

How does this work?

Users with the 'Enable Organisation Wide Widget Settings' permission (i.e., administrative users) will be able to edit both the organisation view and the user view of the dashboard.

General users without the 'Enable Organisation Wide Widget Settings' permission will be able to view the organisation view but will not be able to make any edits within it, as editing will remain disabled. They can only make edits to their user views.

6. Modifying the Multi-Select Hierarchy Filter within Risk Reports, to Toggle all the Lower-level Nodes On/Off Automatically upon Ticking a Parent Node

6. Modifying the Multi-Select Hierarchy Filter within Risk Reports, to Toggle all the Lower-level Nodes On/Off Automatically upon Ticking a Parent Node

This enhancement will modify the existing multi-select hierarchy filter within Risk Register Report and the Bow Tie Risk Report to automatically toggle all lower-level nodes on/off when you tick a parent node.

How does this work?

  • When the "Show Selected Hierarchy Nodes Only" checkbox is unticked:

    • If you select a parent node, then all of its child nodes would automatically be selected.

    • This means that the report will be filtered based on the selected parent node and its linked child nodes.

  • When the "Show Selected Hierarchy Nodes Only" checkbox is ticked:

    • You would be able to select the required nodes without automatically selecting the child nodes.

    • This means that the report will display data exclusively for the specifically selected nodes.

Note: This modification will be available within your live and test environments on 19th July 2024.

7. Introducing the ‘Get Risk Appetite Data From’ Filter within the Risk Heatmap Report

7. Introducing the ‘Get Risk Appetite Data From’ Filter within the Risk Heatmap Report

This enhancement introduces a new filter named 'Get Risk Appetite Data From' to the Standard Risk Heatmap Report. This filter allows you to select from which Assessment tab the Risk Appetite Benchmark Scores should be captured.

How does this work?

  • You would be able to see the ‘Get Risk Appetite Data From’ filter as a single select dropdown list within the filter page of the Risk Heatmap Report.

  • By selecting an option from the dropdown list, you can specify which Assessment tab’s Risk Appetite Benchmark scores should be captured within the Risk Appetite section of each Risk in the Risk Heatmap Report.

  • For instance, if you select the ‘Inherent Risk Assessment’ option within the dropdown list, the Risk Heatmap Report that is generated would capture the Risk Appetite from the Inherent Risk Assessment tab.

Note:

  • By default, the ‘Get Risk Appetite Data From’ filter would have the ‘Residual Risk Assessment’ option selected.

  • The Assessment names within the dropdown list would vary based on the labels used within your environment.

8. Introducing Control ‘Review Frequency’ and ‘Last Reviewed By’ Columns to the Standard Risk Register Report

8. Introducing Control ‘Review Frequency’ and ‘Last Reviewed By’ Columns to the Standard Risk Register Report

This enhancement adds two new columns named, ‘Review Frequency’ and ‘Last Reviewed By’, to the Standard Risk Register report. This enhancement would enable you to capture the ‘Review Frequency’ and ‘Last Reviewed By’ details of each Control that is linked to the Risks listed within the Risk Register Report.

How does this work?

  • The two new fields would be listed under the Controls section of the ‘Show Fields' filter of the Risk Register Report.

  • By ticking/unticking these fields in the ‘Show Fields’ filter you can decide whether or not to capture the two fields within the Report.

  • If you tick the two fields and generate a report, the two columns would be visible along with the existing Control details captured within the Report.
