Proxy Account Checks

This can be used for issue troubleshooting such as performance issues:

  • Verify whether they are using a proxy account to access the Internet.

  • Detailed Instructions:

    • For Browser Proxy Settings:

      • ❖ Google Chrome

        • ➢ Open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner and click Settings.

        • ➢ Go to "System"> Click " Open your computer’s proxy settings."

        • ➢ Inspect the opened window to verify the status of proxy settings. Check for any assigned IP addresses associated with the proxy configuration.

      • ❖ Mozilla Firefox

        • ➢ Open Firefox and click on the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner.

        • ➢ Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Network Settings."

        • ➢ Check the proxy settings in the opened window. Check for any assigned IP addresses associated with the proxy configuration.

      • ❖ For System Proxy Settings (Windows)

        • ➢ Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.

        • ➢ Type "inetcpl.cpl" and press Enter to open Internet Properties.

        • ➢ Go to the "Connections" tab and click on the "LAN settings" button.

        • ➢ Check the LAN Settings window and ascertain whether the proxy settings are configured for automatic detection or if a manual IP address is assigned with the proxy configurations.

        • ➢ Check for differences in performance with and without the proxy.
