Creating a New Project

1. Overview |
The system's functionality resides in the process of project creation and subsequent data entry. You can create projects whilst being anywhere in the system via the + icon in the left-hand side Quick Navigation menu.
Upon clicking on the + icon, you will be able to see the following options:
Add Project
Copy Project
You can create new projects via the Add Project option or via the Copy Project option.
2. Creating a New Project |
To create a new project follow one of the below steps 1.1 or 1.2:
Step 1.1: Click on the + icon in the left-hand navigation panel and click the New Project menu option.
Figure 2.1.1Step 1.2: Alternatively, you can click on the New button in the right-hand corner under the 'Project Register' page.
Step 2: Select the 'Project Type' to create the project against.
Step 3: Fill in Project Details and click the Save button at the top of the page.
Note: Mandatory fields will be marked with a red mark placed at the left corner of the field.

3. Copying from an existing Project |
If you are creating a large number of similar projects, you can use the Copy Project option. To create a project by copying from an existing project follow the below steps:
STEP 1: Click on the + icon in the left-hand navigation panel and click the Copy Project menu option.
STEP 2: In the ‘Project Search' tab, select a project that you want to copy/duplicate from the list of projects displayed. Additionally, you can use the ‘Search' option to search for a particular project to copy from. Click the Next button once selected the project to copy from.
STEP 2: In the 'Project Details' tab, enter a new ‘Project Reference', ‘Project Title’, select a 'Project Type’, and click Next.
Field | Description |

Project Ref | The System will display the project reference number based on the project selected. You can specify a new reference number as required. |
New project title | The System will display the project name based on the project selected. You can specify a new Project Name as required. |
STEP 3: In the ‘Object Selection' tab, select the objects required to be copied to the new project by ticking the required checkboxes, select the new ‘Project Owner' from the dropdown, and click the Create button.

Tip: The Copy Project option is available only for the users with 'IPM Administrator', 'Project Creator' and/or 'Project Manager' permissions.
Business Rules
All sign offs for the newly copied project will be reset.
All approval processes for the new duplicated project will be removed.
All content within the newly copied project will be the same as the original project with the ability to edit all data.
