This article contains:

1. Child Projects Tab

You will be able to view all the Child Projects linked to a Parent Project via ‘Reference’ Object – ‘Child Projects’ Tab (If Reference object is available within Project Workflow only).

You can navigate to a child project by clicking on its code.

Once you navigate to a child project you can click on Back button at the top right corner of the screen, if you want to navigate back to the project which you were previously in.

You can view the progress comment entered against a relevant child project by clicking on the Comment icon available in the Progress Comment column.

You can create new child projects underneath the selected parent project by following the steps below.

  • STEP 1: Click on the Create New Child Project button which is available above the grid. This will only be visible if you have Can Add permissions to the object.

  • STEP 2: Enter the required details in the popup and click on Proceed.

You can delete a child project by clicking on the Delete button next to it. The Delete button will only be shown if you have Delete permissions to the Reference object.

2. Referenced Projects Tab

You can add projects of similar aspects as a reference via the Referenced Projects Tab. 

You can link other projects to the selected project by clicking on the Create New Referenced Project button.

A pop-up window which consists of all projects that you have access to, will be shown upon clicking on the Create New Referenced Project button. 

Click on Filter button, if you wish to search for referenced projects which are to be linked to the selected project. The following filters are available. 

  • Project Code.

  • Project Name.

  • Project Type.

  • Project Owner. 

  • Project Status – Allows to filter the referenced projects by their progress status (i.e., Not Started, In Progress, Completed etc.). 

  • Open/Upcoming/Closed – Allows to filter the referenced projects by their status (i.e., Open, Upcoming and Closed). By default, only the open and upcoming will be shown in the popup. 

  • Date From and To - Allows to select a date range and filter the referenced projects of which Start and End Date fall within the selected date range. 

You can view more details such as the status, comment etc. on a certain project by clicking on the expand icon next to it.

Click on Expand All button, if you wish to expand all projects at once. 

Select the projects which you wish to add as a reference by selecting the tick boxes next to them. and then by clicking on the Add References button.

You can delete a project which you added as a reference from the Referenced Projects tab by clicking on the Delete button next to the project. The Delete button will only be displayed if you have Can Delete permissions to the object.

Important Notes:

  • Reference object can be added multiple times within a project workflow. However, the object will be common across project workflow. The following information will be shown within the object. 

    • Project Owner: Project Owner of the Child Project along with the staff position.

    • Start Date: Start Date of the Child Project.

    • End Date: End Date of the Child Project.

    • Target: Target of the Child Project.

    • %Complete: %Complete Slider Bar.

    • Status: Project Status for the Project (as per Project Details object > Project Status field).

    • Open/Closed/Upcoming: Status of the Project.

    • Progress Comment: Latest Progress Comment (as per Project Details object > Progress Comment).

  • Click on Expand All button again to view collapsed records in the grid of the Referenced Projects tab. Additionally, expanding/collapsing option is also available for each record in the grid.

2.1 Exporting Details

  • You can export information available in each tab of the Reference object directly to PDF, Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel files by clicking on the Export button on the top toolbar.

  • Upon clicking the Export button, you will see a preview of information within the respective object on a new browser tab.

  • Click on Export Dropdown Menu icon and select the preferred export format from the menu to download the file in the selected format.
