1. Overview |
You can link a project to the organisational and planning hierarchy. A project can be either linked to an existing Action or a Task.
Actual linking of a project to planning area will be done at this point. Please refer the Business Rules for information on Synchronisation.

To link a project to an action or a task in Camms.Strategy, you should first choose the correct strategy. This is done via the Project Linkage object's Strategy tab.
2. Link a Project to an Action |
You can link your Project to an existing Action or create it as a new Action within Camms.Strategy. To link an action, select the 'Action' from the list.
2.1 Link a Project to an Existing Action
STEP 1: Click the Existing Action button.
The Strategy dropdown will list the primary and secondary strategies you selected in the project linkage area. By default, the strategy will be set to the primary strategy selected in the project linkage area. However, if you wish to link the project to a secondary strategy you can do so by selecting the relevant strategy from the dropdown.
STEP 2: Select the relevant action that you wish to link and click Save.
2.2 Link a Project to a New Action
STEP 1: Click the New Action button.
You will be directed to the page shown below. By default, the Action title will be the same as the project title. You can change it as required.
STEP 2: Specify the following details and click Save.

2.3 Link a Project to a Task
You can link your Project to an existing Task or create it as a new Task within Camms.Strategy. To link a task, select the 'Task' from the list.
2.4 Link a Project to an Existing Task
STEP 1: Click the Existing Task button.
The Strategy dropdown will list the primary and secondary strategies you selected in the project linkage area and the relevant action link to that strategy.
STEP 2: Select the relevant task that you wish to link and click Save button.
2.5 Link a Project to a New Task
STEP 1: Click the New Task button and specify the following details.

STEP 2: Click the Save button.
All project tasks created within Task Planning area will be linked as sub tasks within.
Important Note: You cannot link 2 different projects to the same action (either through different tasks or 1 to a task and 1 to the action). The Projects Gantt chart tasks will be added below the linked 'task or action'. Hence, it will override the other linked project which is linked to different task within the Gantt.
3. Exporting Details |
You can export information in the object to formats such as PDF, Word, Excel, etc., by following the steps below.
To generate an export of the object, click on Export button on the toolbar.
Upon clicking the Export button, you will see a preview of information within the object on a new browser tab.
Click on export dropdown menu icon and select the preferred export format from the menu to download the file in the selected format.
